Dr. Andrew Johnson (AJ),
B.A., Ph.D.,
Dr. Johnson is the Founder and Scientific
Director of EvoCell Ltd. He obtained a Bachelor’s Degree from Hunter College in New
York City. His Ph.D. was earned from Purdue University, U.S.A, where
he studied with Prof. L. Dennis Smith, a leading figure in the field
of embryology, focusing on how the germ line is established during
development. After postdoctoral work in molecular biology at the
University of Texas, Dr. Johnson started his own laboratory at Florida
State University. While there he developed the evolution theories
that underlie EvoCell and he developed the experimental systems that
led to our unique understanding of how pluripotency evolved. Now
based at the University of Nottingham, Dr. Johnson’s lab studies
the molecular mechanisms that control pluripotency and the
development of germ cells and stem cells.
Dr.
Ramiro Alberio, DVM, PhD.
Dr Alberio is Co-founder and Scientific Advisor of EvoCell Ltd.
He obtained his degree in Veterinary Sciences from the La Plata University,
Argentina in 1996, and a PhD from Munich University, Germany, in
2001. He was awarded a Marie-Curie Fellowship in 2002 and more recently
he obtained an academic appointment at the University of Nottingham.
He has extensive experience in animal cloning and has been investigating
nuclear reprogramming of somatic cells for the past 10 years. He
has worked under the supervision of Prof. Eckhard Wolf (Munich, Germany)
and with cloning pioneer Prof. Keith Campbell (Nottingham, UK). |
